An Urgent Statement Regarding The Unfolding Events In The Middle East
As the Canadian Director of The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, I feel an urgent responsibility to address the deeply troubling events unfolding in the Middle East.
Yesterday, the State of Israel launched preemptive strikes on Iran, acting decisively as intelligence revealed Iran was rapidly advancing toward the development of a nuclear weapon. This action underscores a grave truth: Iran’s nuclear ambitions have never been about energy — they are aimed at fulfilling the regime’s long-standing threat to destroy Israel.
For years, Iran has been the driving force behind instability and suffering across the region. Through its proxy networks and ideological warfare, it has fueled terror and destruction in Gaza, southern Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. Most recently, it has escalated its aggression by launching ballistic missiles and drones into Israeli territory, further endangering innocent lives.
Israel, facing an existential threat, has taken the necessary steps to defend its people and its future. We must recognize that this is not merely a political or military conflict — it is a battle for survival against a regime that has openly declared its intent to wipe Israel off the map.
Let us be clear and unwavering:
We at The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry stand wholly and prayerfully in support of Israel as it seeks to eliminate Iran’s nuclear weapons program and protect its citizens from Iran’s attempted annihilation.
In this critical moment, we call upon believers everywhere to pray without ceasing:
For the protection of Israeli soldiers and civilians as they endure ongoing attacks.
For wisdom and strength for Israel’s leaders as they make weighty and difficult decisions.
And for the people of Iran, many of whom long for freedom and peace, to be delivered from the grip of the oppressive and evil regime that has held them captive for generations.
As we watch these prophetic days unfold, we are reminded of God’s covenant with Israel — a promise that no enemy can break:
“Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar, The Lord of hosts is His name
‘If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the Lord,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.’”
Jeremiah 31:35–36
We rest in God’s unchanging Word. And we stand firm — in prayer, in truth, and in unwavering support of Israel and the Jewish people.
